9 and 1/2 Top 3DS Games to Play with One Hand

7 Jun

I fractured a finger in my left hand two days ago so naturally, as a gamer, I tried them all with my right hand. Here are the best of them. I’ll add pictures later, but right now MY HAND HURTS! Edit: Thank Glob for Zemanta!

Picopict

Art Style: Picopict

Art Style: Picopict

Uses only the stylus. Also try Rhythm Heaven.

2:

Kirby’s Adventure

It’s so easy you can use your thumb on the analog pad  and stretch your fingers across to the other side.

3:

Colors 3D

Requires absolutely no skill. Apart from artistic.

4:

FreakyForms

A combination of all of the above. Create, then use really easy stylus controls to play.

5:

Warioware Touched!

WarioWare: Touched!

WarioWare: Touched!

You only need one hand. Try DIY if you’re more creative.

6:

Slow Puzzle/RPG Games

Pokemon, Prof Layton, anything. If it doesn’t involve action, you’ll still pwn it.

7:

Face Raiders

One handed fun. The only thing is you look like a mega-derp when you play it in hospital. >.<

8:

AR Games

You can just create, or you can try playing.

9:

Mario Kart 7 using first-person mode

Actually, no, don’t.

  • You can’t press L, although I still won an entire balloon battle without L thanks to the derpy AI.

    Rhythm Heaven

    Rhythm Heaven

  • First-person mode is terrible and shoe-horned.
  • It just isn’t viable for online.

9.5:

Streetpass Mii Plaza

GO FOR A WALK. Then get nice slow stuff to do when you get back home.

The first chapter cover. These are meant to be once a week! What’s going on? This cover hopefully gives you a better glimpse of the art style.

Hilariously Ironic SNES Controller is Hilariously Ironic

26 May

shaped like a megadrive TT_TTThis Megadrive styled controller was developed by Hudson Soft (then Honey Bee) for the SNES. Now, if the only reason you would choose the Megadrive of the SNES was because it had “better” controllers (ahem), change your mind! I personally find the real Megadrive controllers really comfortable, but that’s probably because I grew up with them. Anyway, look at all those switches! MIND BL000000WN!

Manga Translation: Ape Escape Monkey Battle

23 May

Okay, so it’s only one page of the totally bananas (see what I did there?) manga Sarugetchu: Ukiuki Daisakusen (based on the Ape Escape videogames), but it’s my first shot at a translation.

I personally love this CoroCoro series despite its terrible juvenile humour, although it ended October last year. It was pretty much a collection of themed 4-panel collections and ran for 12 years.

Perpetual Testing Initiative (Level Editor) Released Free For Portal 2

11 May

Yeah, this is old news, but I thought I’d just point it out. It’s a really good piece of software (apart from long loads between testing and designing) that covers pretty much everything. And it’s free. Check it out on the Portal 2 home page.

Mario Tennis Open

11 May

Nintendo of America continues the recent tradition of terrible live action Mario commercials (all featuring kids) with this one for Mario Tennis Open. What’s with the music? And is the camera going to swing around that jerkily in the actual game when you go for a power shot? Back to the news, a full player list has been confirmed. I’m surprised that a Luma and baby characters have been chosen. Check it out (in Japanese) here. It also appears that costumes will be unlockable through QR codes. Anyway, just a few more days for you to wait, and it will all be revealed.

Weirdest. Ad. Ever.

This MK7 commercial is hilarious!

The most realistic, yet unrealistic, real life interpretation of Mario Kart.
